Life Group Study Guide: Loved what you heard on Sunday? Want to go deeper? The life group study guide will help you unpack what you heard on Sunday, while diving deeper into God's word.

  • How patient of a person are you? What opportunities has God given you recently to grow in your patience?

Digging Deeper: Read Acts 22:30-23:35

  • What stands out to you from this passage of scripture? Give the Holy Spirit a moment to lead you to specific thoughts, words, or phrases. What insight, questions, or observations do you have? Write them down, and as a group try to answer them.
  • Who were those that Paul stood trial before? What was Paul being accused of?

  • What defense did Paul make for himself? Did Paul’s defense work? How would you have responded if you were in Paul’s shoes?

  • What topic did the Jewish council divide over? Why was this such a big deal?

Make It Personal:

  • Paul found himself in a circumstance that, from the outside, he could not win. Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like you could not win? How do you respond?
  • On Sunday, Pastor Jason made the point, “Faithfulness is measured by faithfulness, never the outcome.” What is the danger of evaluating our faith based on outcomes?
  • Read Matthew 7:2. When it comes to grace and mercy, we can only pass on that which we have received. How full is your grace and mercy bucket? Who in your life is a consistent source of grace? How well have you found yourself extending grace to others?
  • As Paul sits in prison, Jesus encourages him to take courage. What was that courage based upon? Where might you need to hear those words in your life right now?
  • In the sermon, Pastor Jason made the point, “Our greatest goal in life has to be about where we are in Christ, not where we are in life.” How might this truth change your current perspective about life’s circumstances?
  • What is one take away or action that you have gained from this week’s sermon, life group, or personal study?
